This is a chance to celebrate a collection of work by three artists who have been a part of FOVEA from the beginning. The gallery has never shown any particular ‘kind’ or ‘genre’ of work, but rather championed work made with enthusiasm, commitment and passion.
Sandra Beccarelli
‘The work on show is part of a series under the working title of “electrical landscapes” which explores the tenuous and uneasy relationship between the urban and natural environment.
“Autumn Lights” are inspired by a visual and emotional response to autumn leaves illuminated at dusk by street lamps.
The use of recycled and everyday objects in a fragmented and disjointed way is the perfect means for me of expressing that tension between organic and technological energies.'
Matt Jordan
Painting stickers/sticking paintings…Matt's paintings are done with acrylic paints on to sticky backed plastic. They can be peeled off and stuck-pretty much anywhere. This playful work subverts the notion of both the mass produced sticker and the ‘don’t touch’ work of art .
Debbie de Beer
These paintings are all portraits-mildly obsessive views of precious people and captivating objects.
