A dancing sculptor, two men of clay, a painter bursting out of his day job, and a soft-spoken artist whose work is anything but….

@ FOVEA 9th-22nd December 2006

I’m a dancing sculptor drawing gestures from my sculptures, dancing my drawings, and sculpting my dances.
Sarah Davies

I make simple shapes that are both familiar and fugitive, but always evocative of the history and theory of clay.
André Hess

I am particularly drawn to the effects of weathering, age and the marks made by man. Ideas come from current architecture, painting and utilitarian objects.
John Higgins

At present a senior concept designer for EA Games, my recent paintings have been concerned with making marks suggesting landscape and water.
Ray Rankine

For this particular series of work I drew inspiration from the copper beech tree in my garden to observe the different phases of the tree and cycle of nature.
